We live next to the old Spanish fort, the Fuerte San Antonio, and at a 5-10 minute walk-distance from downtown, atm machines, grocerie stores and restaurants. Ancud is a great platform from which to visit all of the Chiloé island; with regular public transportation through the countryside and different towns. It's also a beautiful place to just relax and regroup strenghts before keep traveling. The streets are safe day and night, the distances are short and the goods are quite unexpensive.
