Etna pond retreat

RichardRating, 5 stars7 months ago
The place was beautiful and quiet. We enjoyed our stay there and will book again. The pond/lake is incredible. We did canoeing and fishing. Our host was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The cottage was comfortable and quiet. Felt welcome and right at home when we arrived. Robert was more than happy to answer questions and give information on the local area. No regrets on this choice.

The River’s Nest

EllenRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This is a special little place with many thoughtful touches from the owners. The king size bed is so soft and comfortable, with matching cozy robes that make you feel like you are in a 5 star hotel! The reclining couch is amazingingly comfortably too! All throughout there are just details and care. You can hear the river rushing by which is so soothing, and there is a nice little outdoor table to eat at it. It's a small space, perfect for a couple, but I was there with my son, who stayed on the sun porch and slept on the day bed and that worked great. The host was gracious to make sure I understood the kitchen was a kitchenette so it is really just functional for simple cooking (i.e. I could make bacon and eggs each morning on the little burners, and we also used the grill they provided. There is also an air fryer that can be used to bake etc) All in all I would definitely come back here - great location, well-kept lovely cottage, wonderful hosts.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Had everything we possibly needed (except a lobster pot :)). It was clean, comfortable and beautiful view. Can't ask for anything better on Sebec Lake. Our family will surely return in the future. Thank you Janice for sharing a piece of your home.

Had a amazing weekend wishing it was longer but it was perfect. Everything was as described and can’t wait to go back again. Peaceful and out of the hustle and bustle but still close enough for a little bit of everything.
The serene surface of the pond reflects a vibrant sunset, showcasing hues of orange, pink, and purple. A silhouette of trees lines the horizon, contrasting with the colorful sky. Gentle ripples can be seen across the water, enhancing the tranquil scene.

Jonathan was the Ultimate host. He always answered messages promptly. He was on site to greet us. The apartment is lovely with all the nice amenities. We enjoyed canoeing on the lake. He graciously let us use his picture perfect deck. A nice bottle of wine with cheese and crackers awaited us. We hope to return next summer. A gracious host.

Beautiful 2 bedroom cottage on Pushaw Lake

SneedRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We loved staying at Gaynor's place. It was clean, cozy, well-equipped, peaceful, beautiful, comfortable beds . . . in short, everything we hoped for. Gaynor was extremely friendly, flexible, and communicative, helping us to get excited about going there. The location was outstanding—a natural setting very close to where we needed to go at UMaine and Bangor. If you're a birder, there's tons of bird life right outside the door. We didn't take advantage of the kayaks, but that looked like great fun in warmer weather. If we're back in the area, we'll definitely book here again. One thing guests should be aware of is that access to both bedrooms is provided by a very narrow, steep winding staircase. We had no trouble with this, but someone with disabilities or someone who is very large or has poor balance definitely might. If you have concerns, check with Gaynor about this before you book.
