Studio by the Beach with Separate Entrance

Open the sliding door to let the gentle sea breezes waft in and settle down to stream a favorite show on the Smart TV. The interior blends coastal touches with boho chic, and there are little luxuries like a work space and secluded private outdoor space. I adhere to the CDC cleaning protocols. I use UV C light for added disinfecting and sanitizing of the Studio, and have also added a Dyson air purifying fan and heater to insure you have clean air. This studio is located on the first floor of my three story home. The studio shares the first floor with the garage so you don't have any shared walls. You have two windows, one in the bathroom and a sliding glass door in the bedroom, they bring in light and the sea breeze but have no views. While this studio is private you may hear footsteps above, music drifting in from other parts of the house, and the sounds that come from everyday living. You'll have one parking space available on the right side of the driveway. More free parking is usually available at the end of the street, 15 houses down on panama. During the day there's extra parking at kiddie beach. I live on the two top floors of the house so i'm easily accessible for as much or as little interaction as needed. The setting on a quiet street is only half a block from channel Island harbors Kiddie Beach and 1.5 blocks to Silver Strand Beach, a popular surf spot and vantage point for catching the sunset. Watch for whales and discover a yoga studio, corner market, and salon, all only moments away. Hollywood by the sea has unique sounds too. You'll hear sea lions, boat horns, and on occasion a fog horn. Every morning at 8am you'll hear our national anthem, and at sunset you'll hear taps. You'll have to pay attention or you'll miss it. It's one of many thing I love about this area.

For the price in this area you can’t beat Mary’s place. It is clean, quiet and has everything you need. Mary is very kind and welcoming. Just some FYIs…I didn’t take any stars off for these things because I still had a fantastic stay but I feel others would benefit from more detailed information…I did find the bed to be very hard in the king size room. I still managed a decent sleep for two nights but it would have been an issue for me for a longer stay. Also there is no coffee maker but she does offer instant coffee and a kettle or Starbucks is 1 min drive away. There is no AC in the home but the room did manage to stay cool at night with the fan provided. I was gone all day so not sure how cool the room would be with the sun up and shining in.

Glen hat uns sehr freundlich in Empfang genommen und hat uns auch gleich einige gute Tips für Ausflüge in die Umgebung gegeben. Sie war immer gut für uns erreichbar, da sie selbst im Haus wohnt. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Steve and Liz’s beautiful home. Wow, what a special place. The grounds are beautiful with lots of peaceful garden areas to enjoy. We had a private entrance so we could come and go comfortably. The room was clean and comfortable. The en-suite bathroom was awesome, especially with the private sauna which we enjoyed each day of our stay. The hot tub on the deck was lovely as well. Steve was available as needed but as the suite is on the opposite side of the house that they typically occupy it felt very private. I appreciated being able to refill our water bottles from filtered water in the kitchen as well as having a small fridge available to us. The tower room was especially memorable with its panoramic view. They are so fortunate to get to live in such a special place and we are so fortunate that they open their home to us. We would definitely return.

The Castle on the Harbor!

We stayed at Oxnard Castle for a last minute family getaway and the place was absolutely amazing. The home backed up to the channel and our boys were able to kayak and paddle board every morning. The kitchen was well appointed and stocked with everything one could need to prepare meals while overlooking the beautiful scenery and enjoying our morning coffee and breakfast. The home had plenty of space for our family of five which includes two teenage boys. Local restaurants, shops and grocery stores were within a 5 minute drive. Hailey was extremely responsive. We would definitely stay here again.
