Vacation rentals in Carnac-Rouffiac

Travelling from New Zealand to stay three nights in this stunning little French village we found Thierry’s medieval cottage delightful. It is spacious and comfortable. We put the kitchen to good use and enjoyed having the opportunity to explore the village in the cool of the morning and evenings when many day trippers had left. The views from the village are truly stunning, and the car parking card a real bonus. Couple of tips, the staircase to bedroom is small and steep. We left our suitcases downstairs, taking whatever required up to bedroom /bathroom area. We would also highly recommend a stop at the supermarket before coming up to the village to collect any basics you may require as once settled in and parked it is a long walk back down the hill if you need some milk. We would highly recommend Thierry’s place and a stay in Saint Criq, a real experience not to be missed. Thierry’s information re location and access are superb! Making the visit extremely easy.

No surprises, the description of the accommodation matches the reality found on site. On the other hand, the welcome that Monique and Jacques reserve for us is more than perfect. They are attentive to our needs, without being invasive, we see that they take a real pleasure in meeting their guests. Thank you Jacques for the great intergenerational hike (the youngest was 4 years old), the guide was great! The cottage is in a quiet and green place and the surroundings (15 km) are full of riches and discoveries, hikes, nice markets, heritage, original ideas the "Café Broc", the bookstore in Montcuq, Mount Saint Cyr, old Cahors... and more. The house proposed by Marteen and Sofie matches its description in every way. Spacious, bright, very clean, it offers beautiful services (underfloor heating and cooling, stove, well-equipped kitchen, comfortable bedding). We were not able to test the pool, given the rental period, but it makes us want to come back (well located, without vis-à-vis, magnificent view). The escape is at the rendezvous, by the situation of the property (the only immediate neighbors are the owners). The grounds are not fenced and it gives direct access to beautiful walks in the area, exotic (pretty Lotois hamlets). The hosts are welcoming, very responsive and adaptable, their communication, warm.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Helen's house in Cavagnac. The house is located in a dream hamlet, quiet and romantic. It is comfortably furnished and has beautiful seating areas around the house. We also enjoyed the whirlpool. Helen is very friendly, she welcomes us personally and is happy to answer any questions we may have. We'll be happy to go back!

Julien and Boris are real hosts: available, smiling, very communicative. we felt very comfortable very quickly in this little piece of heaven. The walk in their park is just perfect. The renovation of the cottage is done with great taste and very well insulated acoustically but also against the 35 degrees that accompanied us during our stay. But that's not all, Boris is a fine cook and we were able to enjoy his talents. Thanks again to the 2 of them for introducing us to this peaceful retreat.

Our stay at Mildrede's was exceptional. The hospitality of our hosts was very warm and their advice was interesting. We spent a beautiful week in their beautiful estate (the view, the environment, the horses, the pond, the calm, the space for our dog...). Despite the scorching temperatures we were cool in the cottage and the access to the Mildrede pool allowed us to cool down throughout the warm hours. We highly recommend Mildrede's cottage, it is central enough to discover the Bas Quercy region with its beautiful villages and markets. Beautiful walks (walking, mountain biking or horseback riding) are possible from the house. A real little paradise for us and our animal friends!

If you like the countryside, the quiet, the great outdoors, if you have children or grandchildren who like the swing, the trampoline, the pool and playing outside, then don't hesitate, you will be delighted with your stay. Sophie is very responsive and her messages are very pleasant to read. We would have loved to have met her. Good bedding, good amenities. It is very pleasant to change the garden furniture according to the sunshine. Everyone always finds shade or sun, according to their desires. +++ for the SPA.
