To each their own but for us this place was perfect. Reasons we preferred this place over a hotel: Secluded and and away from tourists. You can truly relax and unwind after the days activities in peace A very large place for just the two of us to enjoy. Nice kitchen for those that prefer to cook instead of just eating at restaurants Picked fresh limes and grapefruit to use in drinks and breakfast every morning Don't need to pack much because they have a nice washer and dryer Lots of wildlife including roosters, frogs, birds A large and lush property to explore, walk around and enjoy. Very relaxing and peaceful. The infinity hot tub takes some extra steps to warm up and take care of but being up at the top of hill overlooking coastline in a non chlorine hot tub was exquisite

My husband and I as well as another couple spent 9 nights. Minh’s home is spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed the personalized artwork throughout. It was more than adequately stocked with paper products, laundry supplies and personal care products, as well as items like beach towels and a cooler. Minh sent us a detailed email including island activities and restaurant suggestions. In addition, there was a more detailed folder inside the home. I reached out to Minh about a couple of minor issues and she responded quickly. The views from the back porch are breathtaking! We enjoyed many sunsets overlooking the ocean. Overall it was perfect for our needs and I feel well worth every penny spent! I will be recommending it to any of our friends planning a trip to the Big Island.

This place is more beautiful than the photos could ever possibly justify! The first day on the trip the smoke alarm started beeping and it was fixed before I even returned to the house Mikael was so sweet and proactive! This place was peaceful and quiet and the view was breath taking. There are notes left around the house but I personally found them so helpful! It helped me navigate the home as if it was my own! And the black stone pizza up the road was the most incredible place I’ve ever been. 10/10 would stay here over and over!

We wanted to stay somewhere away from the city and have more of a genuine Hawaiin experience and we couldn't have been happier with our time at Kat and Joe's. Their property is serene, the proximity to the beautiful beaches is perfect and they are kind, welcoming hosts. We hope to stay there again sometime soon!

If you clicked on this listing, do yourself a favor and book it! Modern amenities in a place that seems to be an homage to the 80s. It's peaceful, spacious and will feel like a home away from home. Jymi Lynn is such a gracious host. She's super responsive and happy to help with anything you may need. 10/10! Would definitely stay again! On the plane, missing it already.

Annette’s place was so peaceful and relaxing. It is further away from the touristy areas, but was exactly what we were looking for. It was about an hour drive to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, which is where we spent most of our time! This was a great place to relax and unwind after island hopping and staying in busier areas. My husband is into astrophotography and the night sky was amazing. We loved spending time star gazing on the porch. Definitely recommend staying here if you are looking to get away from the more crowded areas!

The Sugar Shack was a great stop on our vacation. Gary was an exceptional host and showed us all the great snorkeling areas. We were very happy with the communication and all he provided at his rental.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay! The location couldn’t have been more perfect. It had a great view of the ocean, sunset, walking distance to a ton of restaurants, coffee shops and along the beautiful coastal strip. We felt right at home and it was a great place to experience The Big Island 🏝️ Mahalo!

The beach gear was so much fun for our beach days, the location was great and close to pretty much everything we wanted to do on the trip, we loved our morning coffee on the lanai, and the decor was a plus, loved it all! Our stay here was perfect. Location was amazing right by the beach at a peaceful community, great for viewing sunrise/sunset. The place was just as pictured, very clean and had everything we needed. Highly recommend!

Amy's place was just the perfect condo for us. It had a great unobstructed view the ocean. and the sounds of the ocean along with the evening breeze wafting through the unit at night was heavenly. Having breakfast on the lanai was a treat each morning of our stay. Very private end unit on the second floor assured privacy with no one being able to look in or walk by. Quiet and away from the bustle of the tourist district. (except for one noisy Coqui frog in the bushes nearby). I chased it away enough to get it to stop for the evenings. A nearby market and Ali'i Gardens Marketplace with cool friendly people (plus great fish tacos!) is just a short walk away. Amy was attentive and provided good tips for our visit which was a great help. Will definitely visit again!

This place is incredible! Ocean view is incomparable. Locations is amazing. We could have stayed for weeks and never used our car. Great sandy beach just downstairs. Endless snorkeling right out your door. We often went out for a snorkel in the morning with just our masks and swimsuits. It was so convenient to leave all of our valuables in the condo and not worry. Then you can just pop upstairs and make lunch and do it all over in the afternoon! Restaurant downstairs has great food! Paranaz was an incredibly accommodating host. She was super responsive and friendly. She helped us out with a lot of special request and never hesitated to help meet our needs. Phenomenal amenities, from beach gear to bathroom supplies. We didn’t need to buy a thing besides groceries. There’s even plenty of cooking condiments, so convenient. Bed was super comfy! Best one out of the five air bnbs we stayed in over three islands. This place will absolutely be our big island go to!

Beautiful condo right on the water. Had a very well appointed kitchen with good appliances. The deck is a showstopper- lounge chairs and a table and plenty of space. Would definitely rent again. Holly was easy to communicate with and responded very quickly.

What a great space! The entire place was tastefully decorated, had everything we could want or need to make our stay comfortable, and out of main tourist area so quite and peaceful. The view is lovely from the bedroom, kitchen, and gazebo. We loved being able to come "home" and feel so cozy while we rested or enjoyed some food/wine at the house; and the chorus of frogs was something we at least really enjoyed at night. So happy we stayed here, and would definitely stay again given the opportunity!

We loved our stay! The lofted space makes it feel very spacious, even with four people. It’s tucked away on the hillside for incredible views right from the patio. The amenities are very nice, from snorkeling gear to coffee press and in unit washer and dryer. It’s walking distance to some nice restaurants and coffee shops. Would love to come back.

Perfect half-way point between Kona and the National Park. Sunset views were breathtaking and everything was clean and comfortable.

Roy and Joy were very nice with great suggestions and shared delicious coffee, fruit, and vegetables from the spacious property. House has high and expansive view of the coast and ocean from main bedroom with balcony and living and dinning rooms. Large kitchen with extensive cookware and beautiful views of tropical florals. Road is bumpy but doable with 2-wheel drive and some clearance. Terrific choice for west side of Big Island and we definitely would come again!

Amazing place to stay. we loved the views and amenities. The kitchen had the best supplies of any Airbnb we've stayed at. Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to stay on the Kona side of the island.

Our stay here was wonderful!!! Connie was a great host!! The cabin felt comfortable and just like home. We loved being in the forest, it was so peaceful and relaxing! This location is very remote which is what I wanted for the first part of my stay. Waking up every morning to the birds and view was priceless. The house is eclectic with random notes every where lol. We went to Costco upon landing and brought all our food since there are no groceries or restaurants close. We did experience issues cooking for 2 on the hot plate burner. It just seemed to not get hot and took a long time so dinner preparations were lengthy so plan for easy meals (we only sautéed vegetables). The kitchen had most of what you would need. Olive oil, Saran Wrap, aluminum foil, Salt, pepper, A few storage containers. The bed is super comfortable. The bathroom is open air so you’ll need to be comfortable going #2 with the person you stay with. :) The beach at the bottom of the hill is large smooth rocks no sand and a bit of current. I liked the natural feel of the neighborhood.
