A perfect spot to stay in Cairo. The neighborhood is central, quiet but lively. Perfect for going out to dinner in the evening, it's easy to walk around. The apartment is cozy, well decorated. And above all, Martine's welcome is at its best: we received lots of good tips for visits, restaurants etc. I will happily return if I come back to Cairo!

Like having an extra home. We were incredibly well received and that's how it continued all the time. Martiné is wonderfully sweet and gentle. We enjoyed both the terrace, the lovely breakfast, with homemade jam and the good room. The guards in the hall were very friendly and attentive and even offered us to taste local food - one afternoon. Egypt has been amazing! It was crazy to experience that I dropped my wallet in an Uber, but the driver, came back with the next day and dropped it off in person.

Chez Martine was absolutely nice place to stay. As I was travelling as a solo woman the area felt safe (to walk even it was dark alreaf) and was peaceful compared to center. Shower had hot water which was nice as it was bit chilly on February. Mr. Nasser was very friendly. what I really liked was the atmosphere, the flat was very specially decorated.

My stay at Isis Hotel was a pleasant experience, the room was immaculate and comfortable with a fabulous view. However, what truly made my stay exceptional was the outstanding hospitality provided by the host Mustafa and his team. From the moment I arrived, Mustafa went above and beyond to ensure I felt welcome and at ease. Their friendly demeanor made my trip unforgettable experience. I highly recommend Isis Hotel to anyone seeking a comfortable stay. Thank you for the exceptional host Mustafa who truly makes the difference.

Islamic Cairo Private Double En-Suite B.B & WiFi

ValeriaRating, 5 stars15 months ago
The hotel's location is super convenient to reach, even on foot, Khan el-Khalili, Al-Azhar Park, Old Town, Downtown, and many other attractions. On all the nearby streets there is great street food. The structure is spartan but there is everything you need. Finally, Said and his staff are friendly and also available to provide tourist information and organize guided activities. I therefore highly recommend staying at this accommodation for those who want to experience the city from the inside and in an authentic way.
An entrance to Arabian Nights Hotel features a wooden door framed by potted plants. The stone facade gives a sense of historical architecture, while warm lighting is visible inside, hinting at a welcoming indoor space. A sitting area is subtly discerned through the entrance.

A Single Room, Private Bathroom At Arabian Nights

YochananRating, 5 stars25 months ago
The property is an inexpensive hotel with a very friendly and responsive staff. I arrived at 10 pm at night and, at first, was intimidated by the busy streets and crowds. But I soon realized that the neighborhood was 100% safe. At 11:30 pm there were mothers and their children walking the neighborhood. It was a good experience. I felt what it was like to be a part of the local community. The people in the streets are nice and respectable. It's a decent and respectful spirit in the air. Yeah, okay, the room wasn't crystal clean, but for $12 dollars I was completely satisfied. And the air condition worked and was cold! I wasn't there for the room. I was there to meet the locals and find a couple synagogues. And that mission was successful. Also, Haitham and his staff were there for me at all times. If you want a clear vision of down to earth Cairo, then here it is. Enjoy the spiritual journey and the kindnesses and respectful behavior of the locals. Shalom!

Cozy Room No. 5 in Bayt Yakan Historic Cairo

GeraldRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We were in Cairo for 4 days. El-Darb El Ahmar is a poor neighborhood of Cairo that is very safe despite its poverty. It is not considered touristy. We also hardly saw any tourists. Egyptians congratulated us on booking a place here, because here we would get to see ancient Egyptian life. It is a swarm with lots of small stalls, artisans, lots of tuk-tuks, vespas and friendly people. Since there are many mosques, the muezzins can be heard very loudly. It felt like time travel. We felt extremely safe and welcome. The host Sara also helped us perfectly with all our wishes (e.g. pick-up from the airport).
