Our gite is a charming stone house tastefully restored with the traditional French Style, in the heart of the countyside, surrounded by woods and field of the Natural Park of Périgord Limousin (30 km from Brantome). This location is perfect for nature lovers : walks, biking, canoeing on the Dronne, swimming in lakes (Saint Estephe, Saint Mathieu ...) river fishing and autumn harvest ceps. We will also give you some information as days of local market and places to visit because there are an abundance of medieval and renaissance villages and hamlets to explore within the region. Menet is a castle built in the 12th century on the right bank of the Tardoire, close to the friendly and lively village of Montbron. This family home is classified as a Historic Monument, and has been the subject of a major renovation project. The location of the castle is exceptional, surrounded by nature, overlooking the Tardoire River and an old mill. A very large south-facing terrace allows you to enjoy this view.
