First, Neil is an incredible communicator! Second, I was looking for a place of solitude in an ever-crazy world. Loon Island is EXACTLY that. It's a place that can be whichever you prefer, a wonderful place to stay all week without outside influences, or a basecamp for excursions to explore the Northwoods and towns. Amazing sunrises AND sunsets! Only significant sounds are waves hitting the island shore and nature. And, because it's all contained on an island, there is less chance for undesirable wildlife interactions. Caught walleye, smallmouth bass, crappie and rusty crayfish! Ate fish and crayfish! I love this place! Only critical comment is, Neil provides a 14ft boat and 4hp motor (both worked well), but there is not a good place at the island to manage a larger private boat. I wish there were. However, the arrangement with the nearby resort worked fine. Slight inconvenience, but was glad there was a solution/work-around. Definitely would stay again!

We enjoyed our stay at Three Lakes Cabin. The pictures don't do justice for the view. Check-in was easy, the cabin is so clean and comfortable, and it had everything we needed. The driveway is a large space, so easy to pull in and park our truck and trailer. Amy and Marcus were great hosts. They messaged to ensure we had everything we needed and reminded us to reach out if we needed anything. Would definitely recommend!

We had a fantastic weekend and are so glad we chose this cabin! Easy parking and a quick snowmobile ride from shore, and we especially appreciated the flexible check-in, check out, and responsive communication before and during our stay. The space was comfortable and had a lived in feel, like home away from home (games, books, throw blankets, night lights, etc). The kitchen and pantry had everything we needed and then some, the beds were comfortable, there were ample hooks and storage spaces for our gear, and plenty of room to share meals, puzzle, and chat. The space has incredible views, and is very private and quiet...this was an awesome weekend escape for ice fishing and unplugging. The sauna was fantastic and we wished we had at least one more day. Would love to come back any time of year!!

Our family of 4 really enjoyed our stay on the island. The privacy you get from being on an island was amazing. The cabin has two docks which are both set up very well for fishing and swimming. The cabin was spacious and comfortable and provided everything we needed. Burntside Lodge is a very unique lodge on the lake that does serve food on Tuesday and Wednesdays to non-guests, the food is great. The Lodge is just a short boat ride away and the only place to get gas on the lake. Burntside lake is not a crowded lake and it has amazing scenery and wildlife. Overall a great trip and would recommend to anyone looking for a BWCA type lake with the luxury of a nice cabin. The island and cabin are also very pet friendly, our dog had an amazing time, and being on an island you dont worry about them wandering off. Communication was always prompt and the WIFI worked very well. We defiantly plan on returning!

Historic Family Cabin on Lake Burntside

The fireplace was incredible and we had a great time playing music around the fire. The breakfast room and the enclosed porch were very charming and we really liked the boat and motor-even though the fishing was not so great. The kitchen was nice and well stocked. It felt like we were back in time to the early 20th century.
