Onomad Rtanj - Where Time Slows Down

Onomad estate is situated at the foot of Mt Rtanj, in a tranquil village Ilino in eastern Serbia. It comprises two houses ideal for 12 people. A smaller house is an apartment on its own, accommodating up to 3 guests. The larger house has 1 apartment and 3 rooms, accommodating up to 9 guests. The yard boasts with a heated swimming pool in summer season (June 15 - Sept 15, though, if the weather is favourable, we start heating earlier), outdoor kitchen, firepit and quiet space to recharge.

Our parents live across the yard, they’re always available to help. If you are interested in Serbian rural life, we will be happy to offer home-made food and guide you around or give you a lift to some nearby places. Garden pool is available in summer. Perfect accommodation! Very helpful and friendly hosts: agreed to reschedule a day earlier when we decided at the last minute to move the hike due to bad weather and could no longer do it through airbnb. The accommodation itself is clean, comfortable, great kitchen and the possibility to eat in the house or in the garden surrounded by gentle cats (2 albino and 1 normal) and dog. If we go to this area again, we will definitely go back to Dusanka. Thank you!

If you are after Vratna Gates, the guesthouse in Vratna runned by Ljutica is a great place to stay. Ljutica and his family is very kind and helpful. In fact, it was our best accommodation during 3-week Serbia trip. Guesthouse is located near the center of Vratna village (it’s the only guesthouse there, difficult to miss), in 3.3 km from Vratna monastery. There are several rooms with shared bathroom. Everything is new, clean and nice. They make great breakfasts! We asked for vegetarian food and each of our three days we had different egg-based breakfasts with fresh vegetables, potatoes, etc. It was delicious (nearly best food we ate in Serbia)! There can be some problems with communication if you don’t speak Serbian (we were lucky that Oliver who speaks English was there on his vacation), but anyway all the family members are committed to do their best helping you. And if you are in Serbia, Vratna Gates is one of the most interesting nature phenomenon, definitely worth the visit! So we greatly recommend this place.

I booked this home in the forests of eastern Serbia for my family of 5 from Illinois. It was their first trip to Serbia and they wanted to relax for a few days in peace. Zoran was very responsive, helpful and understanding (family was 4 hours late). They were greeted by Zoran's family member who brought along a translator to better explain things. My family said that the place was brand new and was way better than the pictures. They loved the peaceful location and were shocked that it had wifi as it's located in a very remote location. There is a restaurant, a few kms away, that was willing to deliver delicious food to them also. Highly recommend!
