What a special place this is! We rented three rooms in the castle and had a wonderful stay. Would absolutely stay again if the (marvelous) occasion arises!

Ann's place was beautiful. A nice little apartment on the quiet main strip of town. We were very happy with our stay and Ann was very responsive to messages and flexible with times. The local inn was great for dinner and the surrounding area was really nice. We would definitely recommend Ann's place to anyone wanting to check out County Kildare!

Ballymaconey House Bed and Breakfast

I came for just one night, wet and slightly muddy from a tour up in the mountains. And what did I find? A beautiful house, clean, picturesque, homely, a nice hot shower and a very friendly and forthcoming Ann, who gave me time to settle down, but was always there for a talk, offering tea and advice about what to see next day. Breakfast next morning was marvellously delicious, with fruit (i.e. strawberries!), muesli, yoghurt, homemade breads, spreads, and also porridge and sausages, if one liked. There really was nothing to be wished for, except a longer stay...
A granite church is framed by manicured gardens, with a stone pathway leading to the entrance. Green hedges and potted red flowers are visible on either side of the gate, under a clear blue sky with scattered clouds.

A picturesque 19th century restored granite church

Mary's little church retreat is a beautifully renovated and tastefully decorated space in the Irish countryside, while being located at only about an hour's drive away from Dublin airport. It was the perfect get-away for us; spacious as well as incredibly cozy. Mary was so hospitable and lovely. Would definitely come back.
