The surroundings are very nice and the house is good. However it is quite rural and some cleaning was missing. Regarding the time to find the house, it was difficult for us with the explanations but Andrés went to look for us and helped us.

Elena is a sweetheart, she was attentive to us the whole time, facilitating our arrival and advising us at all times. The house is very special, clean and in a beautiful place. On the first day, a family of howler monkeys passed by the garden, which impressed us. In the garden, there are a lot of butterflies and hummingbirds. Thank you Elena for making us feel so good.

Personally, I was overwhelmed by my stay in Guanacaste with its lush nature, despite the rainy season. My place was like a home to me, where I could relax. The animals delighted my mind, even the rain seemed meditative. You could easily walk to the various beaches. However, the whole area is more for peace and quiet than for party people. Without a vehicle (car/motorcycle/mountain bike), mobility was somewhat limited. The walk to the bus stop about 25 minutes away (there are only a few buses daily to Nicola, Nosara, San José...) The road conditions are poor; mostly gravel roads with many potholes, an adventure. Samara can be reached via the river if it does not lead too much water, otherwise the longer detour must be taken. There is little infrastructure in the immediate vicinity. The small supermarket can be reached on foot in 10-15 minutes. On Wednesday, a Camion delivers vegetables.
