Located on a stone wall where two rivers meet, this renovated traditional house surrounded by trees is a single unit inn. There are no other buildings within sight, so you can enjoy the sound of the river, the sound of birds, and the sense of unity with nature, and the water supply is spring water (water quality inspection has been completed). Depending on the season, there are people who come and go from the river next to the house, playing in the river and aiming to reach Kappa Falls. If the weather is good, you can play in the river, BBQ with the ingredients you bring, You can also enjoy a fire. (Please be careful when handling fire.) When it rains, you can enjoy the ingredients you brought over the charcoal fire in the Irori fireplace in the room, or cook while listening to the sound of the river, as we also provide cooking utensils, a range, and dishes. If you go up the promenade along the river, you will also find Kappa Falls about 150 m away. Please make sure you have food and drinks such as dinner before you check in. It takes 20 minutes to drive slowly to the supermarket. It is a 7-minute drive from the center of Takamorimachi. Gentaiya is located in a quiet villa area surrounded by forests. Guests can use a 2000 tsubo private dog run in a place about 10 minutes by car from Gontaya (Minami Aso Village Shirakawa) for free. One private holiday home at the foot of Mount Aso.

Main bedroom has 2 beds, a big closet, working space and another Japanese style room has two futons. The kitchen is fully equipped so that you can use it for a long stay without any inconvenience. There is a wood stove in the living room which is available in winter after receiving instructions from the host. The host lives next house, but of course will not disturb you unless guest's requests. Our 花hana is located at the foot of Mt. Aso, so we coexist with the wild animals and rich nature.

You will have exclusive use of this Lodge. No other guests. We have built a luxury lodge with irori and log stove. Enjoy a beautiful architectural space decorated with a fusion of Japanese and Scandinavian style. Take in views from the balcony, or curl up on the sofa in front of the log stove. The Lodge is decorated with local artisans work. Soak in the ambience of 444 years at our Buddhist temple. Surrounded by stunning scenery you can explore Mt Aso area and Takachiho.
