Villa kilimanjaro

R. PhillipRating, 5 stars45 months ago
During our visit to Tanzania, we traveled the entire length of Zanzibar; spent weeks on the shores of Dar Es Salam (haven of peace) exploring it''s offerings. But then we came to Mama Simba and Upendo's place. This was our haven of peace. Upendo coordinated just the right activities for both our fifty something year old selves and our family in their early to mid twenties. This was more than a place to stay. They helped to shape an experience. We explored caves and learned local history. We trekked down into a valley to stand beneath the largest waterfall in the region. We picked, shelled, roasted and grinded our own coffee right from a farm. And of course there was "Kili". Each morning we would be greeted with the same warm smiles and a different delicious breakfast. When we scheduled to dine-in they prepared wonderful meals. We were also directed to some great local spots for both casual and fine dining. Inside the villa, the garden was peaceful and beautiful. The weather and the layout combined to have us relaxing outside in the common spaces each evening rather than just rushing into our separate rooms. Family members shared how they were able to read, relax, write, meditate and receive inspiration. The showers were hot. The staff was friendly and helpful. What a great escape. What beautiful people. Thank you Upendo. Thank you Momma Simba and team. We're grateful for how you blessed our family.

My second stay at Mama Simba’s. It is like a homestay. So friendly and helpful. Mama Simba is an engaging and interesting woman, and very involved with her community. I like being in Rau, a little outside of Moshi town.
A winding pathway is bordered by neatly trimmed hedges and lush greenery. Sunlight filters through the trees, casting soft shadows on the dirt road, which leads towards the homestay. Colorful flowering plants peek through the foliage, enhancing the natural setting.

Bratist Homestay Arusha

LaraRating, 5 stars25 months ago
Because my Swahili Classes, which took place in UsaRiver, I was searching for an accommodation, which is located in this area. I found Ibrahim and I am so happy about it. The booking was very easy and I got a quick answer from Ibrahim, he arranged a airport pickup for me. As I arrived, I get warmly wellcomed by Ibrahim and his wife. My room was hugh, clean and calm with a comfortable bed. Ibrahim was the perfect host, he helped me a lot. Showed me around at UsaRiver, helped getting a local SimCard, arranged some daytrips for me, introduced me to his friends (who where also so nice and showed me arround in Arusha)... We often had dinner together. Otherwise I was able to use the kitchen all the time. My room got cleaned very frequently. The appartment is very safe, I´ve never felt insecure. I had my own keys so I was very flexible. To sum up, I had a great time at Bratist Homestay and Ibrahim and his wife Bonnie helped me a lot during my first days in Tanzania to adapt myself.

I would highly recommend Daria’s place. It was very comfortable, breakfast provided was great and Daria even had a driver available for our use at an additional very reasonable fee. All around she, her husband and staff were very pleasant. One of my best Airbnb experiences!!

Deluxe double room with private bathroom

NicoRating, 5 stars83 months ago
Anthony’s house is very comfortable. Shockingly clean, and the infinite coffee and high-end hotel soaps (and the help with laundry) made me feel totally at home. I stayed here before Kilimanjaro, and also after the climb when I was recovering. I was feeling quite sick after Kili, but he actually took care of me, bought water from outside, and brought me food. He also has connections to tours at any price point, which made booking my hike very easy. Definitely the best place I have stayed after 1 month in Tanzania.

We had a very enjoyable stay. The transfer worked very well despite booking at short notice. The place is very clean, nicely decorated, very comfortable bed. Quietly located with fantastic views of Kilimanjaro. Samson is very kind and accommodating, speaks very good English and has experience as a tour guide. The day starts with a very tasty breakfast, then you can enjoy excursions in the area (we were at the waterfall, in a coffee plantation). All with transfer and accompaniment. I can only recommend the accommodation.
