You’ll run out of words to describe the beauty of Quinta da Mourinha. Every detail of this hidden mountainside retreat is stunning. The view from the pool, the lemon orchard, the flowers, the herb garden, the vines. Even the barbecue is made from a giant piece of granite. Anne-Marie and Ricardo’s parents were so welcoming and there are thoughtful touches everywhere…from a convenient pool room and laundry to a welcoming arrangement of flowers in the room. The bed was super comfortable, the shower powerful and our spotlessly clean suite had everything we needed.

The property is a great base for hiking in the National Park, walking along the river and exploring the local area which is so full of history and beauty. We enjoyed sitting on the terrace watching the traffic going in and out of the town. The property is very spacious and great for a relaxing stay. Would recommend.

We stayed only one night and we were well received. The landlord was careful to call us confirming the reservation and D. Isabel who received us was very friendly. Great to rest!

Beautiful house in a wooded, hilly and peaceful environment. The house was very clean when we arrived, the pool was perfect. The hosts are welcoming and available.

Beautiful old stone house in a quiet surrounding, stays cool in the summer heat. Was equipped with everything we needed. There is a washing machine although the description at airbnb says there is none. Pool is great! Good location to discover the Peneda Geres national park but also not too far away from the beaches. We stayed there with two kids aged 4 and 1, however, probably not the best option for very small kids (unsecured stairs, power outlets, banisters have huge spaces). While this is not the fault of the owner and owed to the fact that the house is historic, I am just leaving this comment for other families. If the kids are not too small I would totally recommend this house!

We had a lovely stay, there were 6 of us, spacious house, with everything we needed to feel at home. The environment is relaxing, beautiful view. Close to Arcos de Valdevez by car ( 5 min) Thank you so much for the exceptional hospitality to Joâo and her family. I would recommend it in a second. Thank you for everything.

Second time we stayed here with a group! The place is meticulously taken care of with lots of loving elements. Traditional style and homely feel.

We were 2 families staying together and we had ample space in this well appointed sizeable villa in sleepy local village outside of Viana do Castelo, which is a nice town. There are a few local restaurants in the village and a cafe/bar a short walk down by the river. The river wasn't swim-able though. We spent time relaxing by the lovely saltwater pool which isn’t overlooked and is set in the secluded gardens overlooking fields. We felt a car was essential to visit local towns and national parks. The cleaner came mid way through our 2 week stay and changed bedding towels and cleaned throughout, which was a nice bonus. Jose was there to greet us and gave us helpful local advice We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week stay and would recommend the villa.

We had an amazing stay. The place was perfect for a family vacation. The location was peaceful and the nature surrounding was beautiful. The house was spacious and the pool area was great! We had everything we needed. Totally recommend it! 😊

Fantastic accommodation. Beautiful gardens, pool and house. Marcus is a very good host, and looked after us so well - bringing us little gifts like fresh orange juice just made the experience so much better. One of our children really wanted to keep a huge lemon he’d found in the garden but we told him he would have to ask. Instead of just saying no, or yes, Marcus said “sure, but why don’t we make some lemonade together!”. Just so thoughtful and kind. The house is very well equipped and beautifully furnished. Lots of attention to detail. Pool is very large and everything is perfectly clean. Marcus and Rick really did go out of their way to ensure our stay was successful without ever being intrusive, so please don’t hesitate to book!

We (a big family of 6) were very happy with our stay. It was easy to check in, the house is very well equipped with everything needed, and the view from it to the valley is breathtaking! It was especially nice to be granted a free walking tour with a guide, kids were super happy. We highly recommend this place, thank you very much.

This place is stunning.

we were a group of 10 people and spent the weekend during the famous Sra D'Agonia festivities. The house is extremely comfortable, the staff very helpful. it was amazing to be so close to the center of Viana to enjoy several events but also have a base where we could enjoy time in the pool, cook, and eat as a group of friends. the piano was a very nice plus. an element of our group plays and it felt so much more intimate to be able to enjoy him playing for us.

We had a great stay at Quinta da Mourinha! Beautiful scenery and a restful spot for the 12 nights we stayed. Impressive renovation to an old northern Portuguese farm house, made better by the modern conveniences. Everything was tidy and clean when we arrived, and the friendly daily housekeeper made sure to check in with us to offer anything we needed. Great visit. Will stay again!

We would like to thank Architect Paulo Gomes for the sympathy and attention with which we were received in his magnificent villa in Monção, through the Airbnb platform. It was truly well spent days, in a fantastic space where there was nothing missing. The villa has excellent conditions, which exceeded our expectations, providing unique moments of comfort and leisure. As a constructive suggestion, and with all due respect, we believe it could be even more enjoyable if hosts made us slightly more at ease, avoiding going around the house while our group was present. Anyway, this is just a light recommendation, as everything else was just fantastic. We reiterate our thanks and congratulate us on the wonderful villa and hospitality.

Our stay was perfect, the space was fantastic, really beautiful and well decorated inside and the outside was amazing, really peaceful with the sound of the river.

Casa Ana Rosa is very well located, half way to Arcos de Valdevez - close to Vilela (a great entrance point of the ecovia) and the Sistelo. This makes it possible to get a quick trip to any of these destinations. The house, with a typical moth of the area, offers the necessary amenities for a large family (as was our case), with a good living and dining area (with the necessary utensils and appliances) and a floor with good 5 bedrooms. It has a large outdoor space, with a porch, garden, swimming pool. We chose to include breakfast service, always very well served, which made it a lot easier. Maria João Rodrigues is always attentive and worried that nothing is missing, thus combining the friendliness with availability in the best way possible. We spent an amazing five days on a big weekend, and we all wanted to try it again.

It was just beautiful and we would have preferred to extend. Every morning at nine Gloria brought us fresh rolls and sweet stuff , thank you so much We highly recommend this place.

We were hosted very well by Gisèla who knows how to be warm, available but also discreet. The house is very large, the quality amenities, the peaceful environment and the pool very appreciable in these hot weather. The surrounding area is full of shaded paths. Good restaurant address with simple, good food and for an accessible price given by Gisela. Thank you for this real moment of pure happiness with Portuguese accents.

Joaquim's house is very beautiful and very clean. The cool rooms, the friendly kitchen and this beautiful pool with a superb view, everything is nice! The place is peaceful, with the feeling of being at the end of the world, in the middle of a very green environment, it is a little slice of paradise. Joaquim and his wife are very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. They are perfect hosts! Nearby Arcos makes it easy to find everything and the pretty villages typical of northern Portugal allow for beautiful walks. Our two weeks spent in this house were perfect, we will try to come back!
