Skipperhuset

🏡 Skipperhuset is the oldest house on our family farm Birkenes, which is located in Farsund municipality. Skipperhuset was built in the 19th century and has been rehabilitated several times, most recently in the spring of 2021. In collaboration with a local painting company, we are working to make the house as authentic as possible, among other things by wallpapering the living room, kitchen and hallway with skipper's house wallpaper and linseed oil paint to preserve wood, etc. Skipperhuset has a natural place on the farm and is wall to wall with the brewery that has a renovated oven.

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Morning coffee can be enjoyed both inside and outside with the same feeling of closeness to nature. Large windows overlooking the Spindsfjord and the height under the roof makes nature come close. A shared jetty with its own berth can be found approx. 2 min walk down to the sea. There you can swim from the jetty. If you rent a boat, it is right out in a varied archipelago with good fishing opportunities. Beaches are about 15 min away towards Lista. 10 min by boat/car to the city center.

Short distance to both swimming and fishing on the jetty of the cabin area or at Åpta Camping. 15-20 minutes drive to Farsund city, a cozy little town with a few shops in the city itself and a small shopping center. Several beautiful beaches along the entire Lista coast that are worth experiencing. 1.5 hour drive to Kristiansand, nearest airport - Kjevik.

Large terrace/dock with outdoor furniture, gas grill, and wood-fired hot tub! (IMPORTANT! The hot tub DOES NOT have bubbles or massage, only delicious hot water). Inside there is a bedroom with a double bed, bathroom with toilet and shower, kitchen with all necessary equipment and living room with TV. Loft/loft with 2 single beds, 1.80 ceiling height. Forget your worries at this spacious and peaceful place. Basement apartment of approx. 90 m2 with nice view. 1 bedroom with a good 180cmx200cm double bed. Large living room with sofa bed, spacious kitchen and bathroom with the necessary equipment. Bathroom with sauna!! Nice outdoor space with 2 seating area and sun until late evening! Note: We live above the apartment, so there may be sounds of creaking floors. We also have a little boy who loves to run around. You can hear some small footsteps from time to time

Enjoy a relaxing holiday with the whole family in our modern, high-standard cabin! This is our family cabin, which we use as often as we can, but we’re happy to share it when we’re not there. The cabin is spacious at 150 m², with four bedrooms and sleeping space for up to 11 guests—perfect for two families traveling together. In addition, a luxurious sauna with panoramic fjord and mountain views is scheduled for completion by spring/summer 2026. We hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we do!

Benedikte's house on architect-designed Svindland farm

The Benedikte house is about 10 min drive from Egersund city center and about 5 min from E39. We have attempted to recreate the hospitality of Benedikte - the last one to stay in the old house - in this modern and completely newly built farmhouse on the outskirts of the courtyard of the Svindland farm. Here guests will find peace and idyll. On the farm there are horses, we have two dogs and a cozy peacock that runs freely. The house is very modern and well-equipped.
