Beachfront vacation rentals in Ambalangoda

Wow wow, we had an incredible stay! The housekeeper Ari and his wife amita were so so kind, the oceanfront location was impeccable, we had an issue with the electric, but thanks to Rebecca’s quick and helpful service it was taken care of promptly and professionaly, I would highly recommend this property!

It was a pleasure to stay here. We had everything we needed. Nihal helped a lot: with transfers, sightseeing, food, house, etc. We didn't have any problems. He's a great host! I highly recommend it!

We spent a whole month in this house and were delighted! Spacious, cozy, with a lovely chill area by the river where you can relax and enjoy nature. I especially liked the rooftop – the perfect place to do yoga. The kitchen is fully equipped, so it was convenient to cook. The beds in the bedrooms are comfortable, slept great. The beach is only a 5-7 minute walk and the surf spot in Weligama is about 25 minutes away. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we are grateful to the hosts for their hospitality!

The beach hut is a wonderful place to stay in a beautiful green location. The hut is basic but has everything you need, just a step away from the beach. The hosts are very helpful, and their restaurant across the street is definitely worth a visit. This place is highly recommended!

The place is great. bed is comfortable, kitchen well equipped and very well located. a few minutes walk to the main beach and 15 minutes to Secret Beach. Prabodi is incredibly kind and helpful, and very responsive. I would definitely stay here again.

Best place to stay in Marissa….family had a great time…perfectly matches the phots and descriptions. I would definitely recommend this place. Very very proactive host goes out of his way to help the customer. Very close to the beach 🏖️.

We spent a month here – it's almost a perfect place! The Internet is ideal for work, including video calls. Comfortable bed with new mattress. The bathroom is a delight! The toilet and shower are separated from each other, and the hot water is really unlimited hot water and with great pressure. The kitchen has everything except the Turks for making coffee, but it's a small thing. We made friends with our dogs and played often. They really bark, but only when someone comes, which in our case was very rare. The hosts are wonderful people, it was easy and pleasant to communicate on all issues. There is no noise insulation between our and neighboring apartments at the expense of a thin door in an adjacent wall. We rented this apartment too and used them as a separate office. When someone arrives at the villa, you can hear absolutely everything that happens on the street at any time of the day. In any case, my rating is 10 out of 10 because all the listed pros more than compensate for the minor shortcomings. Thank you!

Wonderful spacious place with fresh renovation and mesmerizing ocean view. Very easy to to contact your host and staff. Lots of places around, 1 minute to the ocean. There is a minimum set of detergents - shower gels and shampoos. Clean enough, but the kitchen is starting to feel a little musty. For this season, it can look a little expensive and I want to expect more details at this price category - slippers, bathrobes, toothbrushes, more towels, shaving accessories, but these are more points for improvement, still this is an apartment, not a hotel. 11/10 :)

We had a wonderful stay at Catherine’s cottage. Location was good; walkable to the beach. It is hard to fully explain just how spacious the cottage is - every room is large and well thought out, even the outside veranda is enormous. The children loved the little pool, it was absolutely perfect to end our Sri Lankan adventure. Thank you.

Coccocabana is a beautiful place to stay at the beach of Sri Lanka. Enjoy the garden, swimmingpool, the house , the waves ( in the swimmingside), the restaurants, shops and go everywhere with a tuktuk! There’s so much positive to tell about it…. Come and see it by yourselves.

We- my husband and I and our two kids (2 and 11 years old) had an amazing time at Eranga's place. The small swimming pool with a deeper space for the grown-ups to stand in was perfect for the little one and to cool of, the view to the ocean through the tropical surrounding was so beautiful and Eranga was one of the best hosts we ever had on airbnb. He was so friendly and always available, arranged for us to see baby turtles released into the ocean, we always had drinking water and other supplies in the kitchen.The restaurants around have delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner, so there is nothing you could miss. Highly recommend this place!

We stayed at Pasan's hotel for 5 nights. The complex is beautiful, the garden very well maintained, the palm trees on the beach make a beautiful picture and also the pool was great. The room and bathroom were sufficiently big and clean. The staff, who were on site from morning to evening, was very friendly and we got very tasty food. We felt very comfortable. The three other rooms were also occupied by guests at times, but overall it was very quiet, you can only hear the waves rushing. Unfortunately, you can't swim in the sea due to the high waves, but there is the pool for that. We would definitely recommend the hotel.

Sophie is a wonderful host—friendly, responsive, and helpful throughout our stay. The villa exceeded our expectations; it’s even better than the photos! The location is perfect for a beach holiday, just a short ride from Unawatuna where you’ll find great restaurants and bars. While getting an Uber or cab can occasionally be tricky, tuk-tuks are always readily available and add to the local charm. Highly recommend this place for a relaxing getaway.

We have just got home after our trip to the Tropical Beach House in Hikkaduwa. What a totally lovely time away. Great communication with Gavin prior to the visit and out in touch with Darmith (house keeper) and taxi transport for arrival. We arrived at 2am to be met by Darmith and Saji (security) and felt at home straight away. Darmith had collected fridge essentials before we arrived so we were set up for the following morning. The house and gardens are lovely, the sound of the ocean 24/7 is just perfect and the house was spotlessly clean with good facilities. Sangrita helped to provide us with Sri Lankan breakfast foods, loved the Dahl curry and the hoppers but also gave us an awesome Brit breakfast of eggs and bacon! Chandra was on hand at night to cook a bbq which was tasty and varied. We used Tuk tuks to get out and about during our stay which were easy to find. Any issues we had were resolved quickly. Lots of local bars and eateries along the beach or further into Hikkaduwa.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful villa, located right on the serene and picturesque Talpe Beach. The calm, crystal-clear waters were perfect for calm bathing, and we were lucky enough to spot massive turtles every morning! We loved the option of cooking for ourselves, and the fully equipped kitchen made it easy to prepare meals. The vibrant markets in Galle, just a 15-minute drive away, offered an incredible variety of fresh seafood, fruits, and vegetables, which was a real treat. If you prefer, Anjalee, the lovely housekeeper, is also available to cook you breakfast. The villa was impeccably clean, and the communication with Jack was seamless and clear from start to finish. It was the perfect place to unwind, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

We spent a wonderful 2 weeks there. The house is a godsend with its location, right on the beach, and its amenities. The residents in the neighborhood were all very friendly. The place is not yet a tourist hotspot, which we enjoyed very much. There is a train station in Ambalanghoda, so you can easily get to other cities. Otherwise, the usual tuk tuks run everywhere. Jay the housekeeper fulfilled all our wishes and was very accommodating. He cooked for us a few times for an extra charge, very tasty!

I stayed for two weeks at this beachfront villa in Ambalangoda, and it was an incredible experience. The villa is spacious, with large rooms and plenty of space to relax. Having a parking area was a huge advantage, especially for my rented motorcycle. Denuka, the host, was extremely helpful and responsive. He quickly addressed my requests via WP and ensured a smooth stay. Another highlight was Denuka’s uncle, who spends most of the day near the swing in the front yard. He is incredibly kind and always ready to help whenever needed. Exploring the surroundings by motorcycle was a fantastic experience—I highly recommend it. Overall, this villa is a great choice for anyone looking for a comfortable and scenic getaway. I would definitely stay here again!

Good place for family holidays. They have a chef who will plate some amazing food.

We really loved our stay at Nalinda’s place. But if you are looking for a fancy, high-end place according to European or US standards, do not choose this one because you will be disappointed. If you are looking for an authentic and charming place with lively people who are super friendly and helpful, take a chance, because it is actually a great deal (never forget how much you are paying !). Nalinda is the best Airbnb host I have ever experienced: super communicative and great at giving tips and arranging transport. Sachin, the person responsible for the house and the tuc tuc, is great. He is the one driving you around and yes, he might be a bit more expensive than the guys you can stop on the street but then it is also super convenient to have a personal driver at all times. The garden and the pool are a definite bonus and there is a beautiful beach on the other side of the road (don’t get discouraged by the wrecked houses that you have to pass). This is authentic Sri Lankan living 💕

Great place: as described. The ocean view from the bedrooms was so relaxing. Worth paying the price. Pramod was super responsive, friendly and a great host. On the last day his mom made fish roti for us; it was such a sweet gesture. Would definitely recommend Pramod's place if you are in the area. Thank you!

Me and my wife like this place so much! The location is the best for house on the beach! The view is amazing, the rooms are clear and comfortable. Hot water and AC in every bedroom. Big living room and comfortable kitchen. Two minutes with Tuk tuk from the city center. And we appreciate the hospitality and help of our host Shashi, who was available at all times! Thank you and we meet again soon!
