Splendid Oasis in the heart of Alentejo- FARMHOUSE

RachelRating, 5 stars9 months ago
Heaven! Andrea and Andreas are fantastic hosts who have created a magical oasis in the Alentejo countryside that must be seen and felt to be believed. As lovely as the photos are, they simply cannot do justice to this beautiful property. The setting is truly gorgeous, extremely private, and oozing good vibes. The farmhouse is spacious, well-equipped, and beautifully decorated -- abounding with thoughtful touches that make the experience unforgettable. This is a working farm that offers amazing olive oil (really, the best!), incredible fresh produce, daily eggs from a pack of cute clucking chickens, and other delicious farm products for sale (jams, vinegar, etc). On top of it all, the pool is simply divine. This was our 2nd stay at the Farmhouse and we plan to return as soon as we can! Highly recommended.
A sandy beach extends along the edge of a tranquil body of water, with visitors enjoying the sunny day. Gently rolling hills are visible in the background, adorned with patches of greenery. The sky is clear with a few scattered clouds, creating a serene atmosphere.

Wonderful stay at José’s house. A lovely and peaceful place. The garden, the big swimmingpool, the nice house. José and his wife are very welcoming, they did everything to acomodate, and we had a great dinner time with them, enjoying a private shared moment with the FAMOUS singer José Campos e Sousa! And the small village of Villa Nova do Baronia is so charming you can enjoy various small restaurants and have some nice walk in the little streets. Thanks you for everything!

We had a great stay! Mr. Manuel was super attentive, always available to answer any questions and showed a genuine concern to make sure everything went smoothly. The house corresponds exactly to what is in the photos and was perfect for the days we spent there. I recommend without hesitation and I hope to return soon!

A modern house exterior is framed by mature olive trees and a lush, green lawn. A smooth pathway leads to a light blue front door, while the building's clean lines contrast with the natural elements surrounding it.

House of the Black Earth Valley

Spectacular space to rest and give space to the little ones to run and explore nature. Always available and super friendly hosts. The starry sky is one of those that we can only see in Alentejo!!! I highly recommend it, there is nothing lacking in this house for those looking for rest, peace and nature.
A view of the outdoor space features a large olive tree providing shade. A cozy seating area with colorful chairs is located near a stone wall, overlooking a grassy area and a bio pool. Flower beds and a wooden stump add natural elements to the scene.

Excellent stay in this typical Alentejo house. The natural pool is a real plus in this area given the hot weather in the summer. We will definitely come back!
An outdoor patio area is visible, featuring a wooden dining table with four chairs and a comfortable seating arrangement adorned with cushions. Green vines drape elegantly along the pillars, while views of the open landscape, including trees and fields, are present in the background.

Splendid Oasis in the heart of Alentejo- THE BARN

JohnRating, 5 stars25 months ago
A hidden gem. This was by far the best Airbnb experience my family and I have ever had. Andrea and Andreas were delightful hosts. They live on the property in a neighboring house and were attentive to all our needs throughout the stay. This is a special property. It's located approximately 1 hour 50 minutes drive from Lisbon. We flew in and rented a car. The drive there was beautiful, taking small roads through the olive and cork groves of the Portuguese countryside in Alentejo. Upon arriving, you enter a complete escape from reality on this ancient farm. Andrea and Andreas have a working olive oil production facility (tour it!), and many of their trees are 1000+ years old. There are also several cork trees. Sheep graze between the trees, moving about the property throughout the day. Chickens lay fresh eggs daily, and you can also pick your own lemons. The pool has several floats as well as a mini bar that Andreas keeps well-stocked. Local restaurants do a great job with take-out.
