Cabin vacation rentals in Alum Creek

"Almost Heaven" lived up to its name! We would leave a 10-star rating if we could. Gary and Julie were excellent hosts, communicated extremely well and always available if we needed anything. The place is adorable and was stocked with many items to make our stay comfortable -- they even provided us breakfast foods, coffee and snacks to get us going! It was so much fun to stay in this historic cabin right across from the River Gorge National Park and a block from one of the best hiking trails in the park. We also loved the jacuzzi after a long day of hiking. Private and beautiful location and still just short 10 minute drive from restaurants, grocery stores and other other "city" needs. Absolutely one of THE BEST Airbnbs we have ever stayed at and we highly recommend "Almost Heaven".

Nicky was an amazing host. The cabin was beautiful and so rustic. The vibe was just what we needed for an overnight getaway away. Nicky was very helpful and responsive.

Great value and very friendly owners...on a pretty creek and firewood provided. Right next to the trails however it is on a main road. The back is very private.

Wonderful property that is secluded but also has lots of space. The fire pit and hot tub were great for spending time outside, and it's super close to the national park.

Location made traveling to lots of New River Gorge (NRG) sites easy and we made the trip to Charleston in just >1hr to spend a day. The food, shops, and charm of Fayetteville as a "just down the road" destination was a huge perk. Great balance of privacy and proximity

Had a great stay, cabin was exactly as described and very comfortable. We liked being outside of Fayetteville but with an easy drive to town and the Gorge. Enjoyed the hot tub and relaxing after a few days of hiking. Highly recommend and would happily stay here again.

My friends and I rented this property as a getaway for the 1 year anniversary of the loss of my friend's partner. This rental was truly lovely and relaxing. We found the property very clean and the beds/couches were comfortable. It was very private and we loved getting to use the ATVs. It's hard to be sad when you're ATVing and hot tubbing with your best friends. The property was also very close to many of the Mothman attractions we came to town for. We would definitely stay again. And Spooky the cat was so friendly. We are a bunch of animal-lovers, so he was a welcome friend during our stay.

We were a last-minute booking (about 45 minutes before we showed up), as we rented elsewhere 15 minutes away. That home was very misrepresented, smelled, had a broken AC, and was just awful. Then we rented this place for the same money and it was SO MUCH NICER. Beautiful, new home. My wife loved the bear theme throughout the home. We used the deck and firepit nightly. The basement and 1st floor bedrooms were larger than expected. The place was spotless and exactly what we wanted. Like any rental, there are a few downsides. Internet is Starlink; the one in our unit was useless (0.5 - 1Mbps down/upload), but the unsecured Starlink from Unit 4 worked well outside, marginal inside. We weren't there for the internet, so no biggie. Kitchen is small and needs more cupboard space (and was lacking some essentials, like knives). We would absolutely stay here again if we come back to this part of HM. Very close to two BM trailheads and easy ride to Devil or RH.

Great, Private place. Beautiful surroundings and a nice porch to enjoy the view. The home is very nice. The wifi worked really good. When the propane ran out during our stay, they were fast to resolve the issue. Without a doubt, would sstay again

An amazing property. Very peaceful. Hot tub A+. Heating stove in living room was very effective and nice to quickly warm up inside after a night time hot tub soak on the patio. Easy access to all directions and in the gorge. Friendly check in. The only ‘issue’ was the comfort of the mattress, but that’s a personal detail/preference and very hard to please every single person. Rustic but comfortable, nestled in one of the RV loops of the campground. Loved having a fire in the fire ring both evenings with wood purchased at camp office.

10/10 would stay here again. Karrie was SO accommodating and nice! The place was just what we needed for my birthday riding trip! We will definitely be back.

Lory was able to accommodate us at last minute and we were so grateful. Cabin was simple but was all we needed. Location was super conveniently located to climbing and restaurants.

The cabin was just as described and the ACE resort grounds were really cool.

Clean, easy to find, basic place to spend the night. Parking was easy as well.

I wish there was more than 5 ⭐️ to give.. we rented Baby Bear and Papa Bear cabins and they were WONDERFUL!!!! The shared fireplace/pavilion was better than described. We spent so much time there that we cancelled dinner reservations just to spend more time with family at the resort! Will 100% be back. And I didn’t mention how responsive the host was, answering questions about fishing and ATV rentals. Great host, great property and great time!!

Great place to stay at to ride the trails! Cheechs right across the the street for burgers, pizza and ice cream! Our host was awesome! He picked up our Hatfield McCoy passes for us and even came and chatted with us at Cheechs while we were waiting on our orders Great job Sir and will definitely see you another time

This place was perfect! It was far enough off the grid providing peace and quiet and soothing nature. We loved this place! It was beautiful inside, clean and user easy. We had no issues. There was even cooking oil and spices in the cabinet and coffee every day. The linens were fresh and clean. The house was tidy and spotless! The decks were amazing and we spent a great deal of family time on the front porch or playing games on the kitchen table. I would give this place 4 out of 4 stars! Just awesome!!!

Had a great stay at Hillbilly Cabins. Cabin was as described and the store just down the hill has everything we needed during our stay. Close to trails and good recommendations on a route to take. Would definitely plan another trip here in the future.

Awesome little place, close to the trailhead, river view was exceptional, I really enjoyed my stay. Will be back again.

Great location for exploring New River Gorge National Park. Loved the covered porch in the evening as we had lots of rain when we visited!
