Vacation rentals with a fire pit in Allamakee County

This was such a great place to stay for a laidback get together to celebrate a birthday. We had everything that we needed in the kitchen to cook meals for each day we stayed, enough towels for 5 people for showers and to dry off after the hot tub. The bathrooms were stocked up with travel sized soap and shampoo/conditioner. A very beautiful & clean cabin experience! The trains were not a bother whatsoever even if they were frequent, we enjoyed them and didn’t find them to be a distraction or too loud. We ended up hiking at the Sugar Creek Bluff which we found with the brochures left at the cabin. The overlook was absolutely beautiful! There was plenty of room for a group of 5 and easy check in/check out process. We enjoyed the sunset and sunrise view that the stay provided and the view of the river. While the cabin was nearby to others, we felt very private and secluded. We were not bothered at all during our stay which was preferred. Also, the clue game was so much fun to complete. :)

This place is great. It’s beautiful and private. It has everything you need and much more. It’s spacious and the beds are very comfy. We’ve stayed here twice and will be back.

We absolutely love this rental. The stunning view out the windows is breath-taking for us land-locked Iowans. Watching the eagles, barges, blue herons, fishing boats, fish jumping never grew old. The sturdy, safe dock is a wonderful place to spend time. Our daughter fished, I sat on the bench and read. So peaceful. We had an issue with the coffee maker. In fewer than 30 minutes, Jane brought another one for our use. She is great to respond to messages quickly, no waiting forever to hear from her. Such a considerate host. We were able to park our car in the garage which was a huge plus for me. The train track is pretty much in the front yard which is obvious from the pictures. The trains didn't bother us. Yes, they are somewhat loud, blow the whistle at Lansing, but we enjoyed watching them. The location was perfect for us to enjoy the surrounding towns and attractions. I would highly recommend Jane and her rental. I have nothing to complain about. Jane, thanks for your rental.

What a beautiful home!! Our family of 13 (8 adults and 5 granddaughters) truly enjoyed our stay at Simon's place. The view of the Mississippi River was amazing and our granddaughters ran to the windows every time they heard the whistle of the train as it approached below. At first I was nervous about the steepness of the back yard, but the girls didn't venture too far down. We relaxed in the hot tub, regrouped as a family as we sat and shared stories around the fire pit Simon bought for our visit, roasted marshmallows and made amazing meals on the Blackstone grill. The house was spacious and allowed each family their own privacy. The kitchen was stocked with all the cooking/baking utensils needed and the two refrigerators were a definite plus. We could have definitely spent a few more days enjoying this beautiful get-away! Thank you for your hospitality and for thinking of everything you did to make our stay so special.

We stayed here for our 8th anniversary! Felt just like grandmas country home. So quiet and peaceful and the family was so nice! Amazing trout fishing and just what we needed

We very much enjoyed our stay at Jame's place! It was so peaceful and beautiful. It's kind of an old place, but they do pretty well at making it a nice place despite the building's age. The porch was a lovely place to hang out and it was much enjoyed throughout our stay!

Views were absolutely beautiful, great little area, and fun little towns in every direction. Very relaxing and easy stay!

Spenser’s place was amazing. It was comfortable, quiet & restful. The courtyard was a lovely place to read, relax, nap, have a beverage & dinner alfresco. The unit was well stocked & even those that were unexpected. The unit was tastefully decorated with up-to-date furnishings. Bed was comfortable, as well as the couch & chairs. Because we have severe allergies to dogs & cats it was so nice & a luxury to find a unit that was pet-free, except for service animals. The unit was so clean you knew they took great pride & care in achieving a safe & healthy space. The community is a sweet little river town. There a a couple of locally owned bar & restaurants that have wonderful food & cocktails. For more dining, shops, groceries LaCrosse & Prairie are a quick drive along the river to go to. Plenty of picnic areas to watch the barges & boats, and a couple of Lock & Dams. In the fall the colors & apple orchards will be bursting with color & activities as well. Will be returning soon.

Jennifer and Bill are amazing people. Very friendly and accommodating. We will be back as long as they're in business. They treat you like you're family.

My host had great communication with me. The space was very clean and nice. Looked exactly like what i was paying for online. There was a little mix up on the rooms but my host was quick to get it resolved!

Decorah High Point Magnolia Cabin was perfect quiet get away for our anniversary! Beautiful cabin, wonderful views and wildlife. Very relaxing!

This was a relaxing stay with a beautiful cabin along the river. It was way from commotion, with the fun sand bottom swimming area for kids plus fishing in the river or canoeing down the river.

Looking for a relaxing weekend with the family with a ton of potential for memories that last a lifetime? Look no further than this hidden gem in De Soto. I've frequently traveled south craving "southern hospitality", little did I know, just a couple hours north had "Midwestern hospitality"! Justin was very responsive initially when asking about his property, very knowledgeable about surrounding activities as well as great watering holes if you catch my drift. The cabin is decorated perfectly and it immediately makes you take a deep breath and smile knowing that you are home. There is plenty of room for you and your family to stretch out, play games, go fishing off of your own private dock, walk to the Rivers Edge and grab a bite to eat (less than a 5 minute walk), etc. If you've got a boat, bring it!! Don't miss out on the local wineries at your stay either! rate 10/5! Can't wait to return!

Wow, such an amazing place! The kitchen was very well-stocked, the beds were comfortable and the views spectacular! The hosts are responsive and accommodating. A solid, all-around 5 stars and I hope to be back to experience different seasons.

We had a fantastic stay. The instructions for everything were clear and we had no issues. The cabin is cozy and was perfect for our trip. We had kids (4, 6 and 7) who loved the trains going by and would glue themselves to the window each time. We’d absolutely stay again.

We had a very nice stay- and we loved our view from our deck overlooking the Mississippi. It was not too far from Lacrosse so we could go hiking there for the day or go to Prairie du chien for golf or shopping.

7 girls on their 1st ever girls trip to a remote cabin in the woods.... 10/10 recommend! The drive there was beautiful, lots of wildlife to see, even on the property. The cabin is just like the pictures. There are the bare essentials as far as kitchen/bathroom supplies, but this isn't the ritz, its a cabin. There is quite the eclectic taste of knick knacks everywhere throughout the cabin. It was fun fiding different treasures througout the weekend and even sometimes comical. We unfortunately were not able to use the hot tub because it was being replaced but the hosts worked with us on ways to compensate us to make up for it. I've never met Charity but after having one conversation with her on the phone, she felt like my best friend after! We enjoyed reading, walks, plenty of games, Bob Ross paintings on the patio and laughing until we were crying. We only had one close encounter with a rabbit upon our arrival but we all fared well in the end! We will definitely be trying to come back!

Jeff and his cabins are amazing, made my stay very comfortable and hospitable at such short notice. I will be coming back again soon!
